How does it work?
Hybrid combines a conventional petrol engine with an electric motor that serves multiple functions.
Hybrid 140 - Full Hybrid
Composition
1 combustion engine
2 electric motors (generator and motor)
1 self-charging 230 V traction battery
Charging the battery
No need to plug in, the battery charges itself as you drive using the energy recovered during braking and deceleration.
The main electric motor supports occasional full electric driving and assists the combustion engine the rest of the time.
The second motor converts the recovered energy into electricity to power and charge the battery.
TCe 130 - MILD HYBRID
Composition
1 combustion engine
1 electric motor
1 self-charging battery
Charging the battery
No need to plug in, the battery charges itself as you drive using the energy recovered during braking and deceleration.
How it works
The internal combustion engine gets extra torque from the starter-generator when driving is most energy-intensive, such as starts or accelerations. It also helps recharge the 48 V traction battery.

The traction battery of your Duster hybrid system is under warranty for 8 years or 100,000 miles.
Yes. Depending on use, the driving range of a hybrid vehicle is greater than that of a combustion-powered or electric car, since you can alternate between multiple energy sources.
You cannot drive in full electric mode with the Duster mild hybrid powertrains.
It involves mild hybridisation of the vehicle, which provides assistance to the combustion engine only during starting and acceleration to reduce consumption and improve performance.
With hybrid vehicle batteries (full or mild hybrid), you don’t need any special connectors. They recharge automatically as you drive when the vehicle brakes or decelerates.
