Duster 4x4 Extreme. Owned for 4 months, spring/summer. Upgrade from old Duster 4x4, used in commuting plus rural, mild off road work and some motorways. Can carry 5 adults plus kit. Comfortable, decent air conditioning, good sized boot.

On road, an enjoyable drive, lovely gear box.

Off road - drives up and down a quarry regularly, has done a muddy farm field in locking diff on standard Mud&Snow tyres with no hassle (and in front of farmers. Phew!)

Short overhangs (please Dacia keep it that way!😁) Nice design features - many controls are intuitive. Has a spare wheel plus cubby holes for odds and sods like tow rope, buggies, tyre inflator, etc. 12 volt power socket in boot. Roof rails turn into roof bars (tool in glove box.)

Auto lighting feature seems to work well as does Android Auto and parking cameras. "Here" mapping ok but use Google maps for urgent jobs.

Quibbles - can't seem to get text messages read easily by car, unlike my old Panda Cross - useful when called to work via text. Still getting used to electronic parking brake as I'm a Luddite. Petrol doesn't last as long as diesel and needs more gear changes😥 (but can go through clean air zones😀)

Needed to add under engine armour as optional extra but not expensive at all.

Dash cams as extra but have proved their worth (see below.)

Dacia Accident Assist worked very well when car got shunted. Very polite and efficient staff and system.

In short, needed a good sized, capable 4x4 but not paid enough to buy a Grenadier. Dacia seem the only company to make such a car so get brand loyalty from me. Dacia Duster Extreme is meeting that need very well at a price that didn't break the bank. Self confessed Luddite so some quibbles with technology but that's a very minor issue and very happy.

I really like the new Duster however there are sone issues that need to be considered. Visibility when reversing is not as good as it should be due to the corner pillars either side of the boot door, they hamper visibility and result in near misses reversing. You cannot rely (and never should anyway) on the reversing camera as it an mislead you re distance from objects. The demister on the car doesn't seem to be as good as the last model. I had to purchase a spare wheel/tyre for the new car as the tyre kit provided is basically useless as it trashes the tyre when used which,if it is a simple nail in a non critical place, can result in an expensive replacement of the tyre (£150) for what is a simple cheap repair. It is easier and less costly to replace the wheel at the roadside. I had bought one for my last car but you also increased the size of the wheels so it became an extra cost for me. Including spare wheel in the new car build is a better and more efficient way to resolve this.

Can’t fault the value for money with these cars. We wanted something that had a few extras but at the same time was robust and practical for where we live and carrying the dogs. Yes the interior is hard plastic but for us that works as we didn’t want to worry about all the dirt that the dogs bring with them. We can easily wipe everything down.

So far it drives well and is comfortable. It’s a bit noisy when on the faster roads with the wind noise. But we had read that was the case. Main niggle is that the break peddle on the automatic sits at a very high angle which is a bit weird at first. Just adjusted the steering wheel and seat to compensate so it’s a more comfortable driving position for round the lanes/town. But I’d suggest this is something Dacia might want to think about !.

I love the shape of the new Duster. I has great style.

But, the handbrake button is in the wrong place. If you look at the Renault Symbois ( my daughter has a new one) the button is situated on the left.

Also the window buttons need to be placed a bit further forward for ease of use.

When I picked my car up and got it home. I removed the boot cover and the round grey plastic dish thing, I don’t Know what you call it and what it is for, was full of water and we had to bail it out and dry it. I contacted the seller and they apologised and said they didn’t know how it had happened.

This is my first Duster. I have had 5 stepways and I nad glad I made to decision to have one.

My previous duster 4x4 was great but i am not too sure about this new one. Far too much tech and i had too call on Dacia Assist to get me to a garage as dashboard info was going haywire. Started off with check injectors, then it said driver assist was not working followed by a host of other messages which i don't remember then a short while later temperature gauge went through the roof.

Turns out it was the electronic water pump which had packed in and was causing all this other info to appear. Have not got the full story but injectors had to be re-programmed too.

I am now a little nervous about driving this car. Maybe it will pass though.

Four months old and have only put just over a thousand miles on the clock, so just run in , but up to now very pleased, its value for money , and economical , quiet and comfortable . I would of liked the option of leather upholstery and not the faux leather available , otherwise plenty of room / leg space , I would also suggest a handbook supplied with the car for people like myself who do not rely on mobile phones or apps ! a little less tricky tronics in the car that's not really needed ie if you are going to crash into something and all the other bits and bobs supposedly to make driving easier. But all in all very pleased .

Engine is very noisy at times particularly on hills, revs high sometimes when stationary.

I don't like the key - it doesn't fit anywhere snug in the car and you can't put it on a keyring.

Way too many warning beeps and lights, often when there is no reason. If you're going to have all this tech, it needs to work properly, not intermittently or randomly. It suggested I take a break from driving when I'd only been driving for 20 mins. I had high hopes for this car but not really impressed so far.

I changed my car recently from a Jogger 1.6 hybrid extreme which I enjoyed very much but didn’t need a 3rd row of seats so I got a.Duster 1.6 hybrid extreme because although the new 1.8 hybrid engine was succeeding it there were still quite a few of the outgoing 1.6 hybrids avaliable. Very well equipped - heated steering wheel comfortable seats and excellent hybrid system. I regularly get high 60,s / 70’s mpg in ‘B’ mode as the hybrid system gives up to 80% in electric mode.

Highly recommended!

So far exceeding our expectations. Replaced a 2 year old Discovery Sport. The 4x4 version so far does everything excellently that we need from an off road vehicle (mud ruts, wading, and hill descent). Not yet tried snow. The off road controls being a manual dial are so much easier to operate than on screen. Only issue, and this is very minor, is there is only room for one cup holder for rear seat passengers. Mind you if that's the only issue it has to be a pretty good car!

The car itself is fine but the trouble with all modern cars is the ridiculous technology trying to make driving safe when it doesn’t! Take a coffee break warning (stupid!) Lane Assist (absolutely dangerous) - Obstacle Alert and Action Taken (absolutely dangerous.) Drivers now have to worry more about the technology going around more than the engine, brakes and tyres. Leave driving to the human .
