Brand new car.

Windscreen wipers screech. Having to book it in as the check airbag light has now come on.

Lower technology spec than previous Stepway, i.e can't connect phone to screen without cable, which randomly disconnects, which is frustrating when trying to use maps, as no built in sat nav, yet it can tell me when I've gone over the speed limit.

Last Stepway I had brand new was the middle spec, same as this one, middle and its gone downhill. I'm never buying another Dacia. This is my third one and by far the poorest even though its best part of £70 a month more than my previous one. Unreal.

My fourth Sandero Stepway '25 version not happy with it .. had I had a test drive in it I would not have bought. My other 3 stepways were all worth 5 stars but not the latest model, sounds more like a lawnmower than a car and others agree with me. It seems '24 & '25 models are all the same with rattling noise on acceleration, I did ask for a refund 2 weeks after buying it but was told the offending noise was 'normal' .. funny when all my other stepways never made such a sound?

Everything you need in a small family car. I got the 110bhp version for a bit more ‘oomph’ which works well. You won’t be racing any F1 cars, but there’s enough to get past a slow vehicle when needed.

It’s a comfy enough ride with usually Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

My only gripe is that in order to improve NCAP safety, Dacia have added lots of active safety driver aid, e.g., lane assist, speed awareness, etc. They meant well and on paper it’s great, but the reality is that they really don’t work well in reality.

The lane assist is too aggressive and doesn’t allow for any kind of driver lateral movement before beeping at you. The speed alert beeps with literally 1 mph over limit. Every so often on a 40 road it beeps at you then badly distracts you saying ‘KEEP CONTROL’ when you’re basically just driving like a human and not like a robot.

You can configure these and activate ‘Personalised safety mode’ (you have to activate every time you start car) which you can actually drive it without being beeped to hell, but Dacia should really improve the software and configure with real driving conditions as it does more distraction than safety in default mode.

I have over the years had many more expensive cars than the Dacia but the level of comfort and design in the Stepway is beyond expectations it is comfortable and the performance is more than adequate.The heated front seats end the satnav is a bonus on a cheaper car ,this is my second Dacia and would definitely buy another one when the time comes .the fuel consumption at 45mpg for rural driving is very good .I can’t really see that you could do very much better other than have a choice of wheels as me personally are not very keen on the black wheels I prefer the aluminium and black but this only a personal preference.The 1litre turbo engine has plenty of power for any journey.

I enjoy driving this car. It has all the tech I want, looks great inside and out and is perfect for my needs.

I really like that I can turn off lane assist with two taps of a single button. On the narrow country roads where I live lane assist is a liability. Some of my friend have to scroll through menus to disable this feature which is dangerous when you are on the move.

What could you do better? If I follow the gear change indicator then the car labours a bit. I ignore it and keep the revs a little higher. Much more comfortable.

I have been very lucky I see Derek Kent each time I change my car and this one is my 6th I find it very easy to drive comfortable to sit in and because of my bad hip it's at right height for me to get in and out of without causing problems to my hip I like the way Derek gives me all the facts and gives me time to think it over and the cars have all been presented in top condition I'm very happy with the service I've had since my first dacia in 2011

Like being higher in the seat .would love a box at the back of the hand brake. Its pretty good on petrol miles using eco button. Colour was nice boot space is ok. Handles very good .Starts first time done 2.440 miles since August and trouble free motoring. Heaters and air con is very efficient and car warms up fast. I like the warning bleeps when you go slightly over 30mph or 20 mph good warnings. Quite happy up to now. My grandson likes it.

Overall a positive experience. I enjoy how the vehicle drives, it’s a decent size and I appreciate how it looks. It’s also economical enough at 42mpg on average. But overall quality is lacking. The digital radio has never worked properly, bits of trim keep falling off, and the front electric windows have both completely stopped opening and closing. I have only done 1600 miles, I worry how my car will look after 12 months!

Lovely car to drive, I don't like the way the car tries to control my steering and puts braking on. It's good you can turn the settings off. Be good if there was better cup holders. Theres little things about the car but overall I do enjoy driving this car and I do feel safe in it. I love the style of it and the fact it has roof racks on that are easy to use. Brilliant on petrol and I would buy another one.

I liked the colour , not happy about the new addition it pulls you in if your near the hard shoulder , this experience hasn’t been the best , and wasn’t explained and came as a shock , also no manual , I was told it was online , not the same , was not treated as a valid customer, as this is my fifth car , and I recommended these cars to my family, I personally will not purchase any more .
