Sandero Stepway according to those who use it on a daily basis

My first Dacia although my wife is now on her third. The Stepway has been great so far, very comfortable and economical. The finish is good and the trim is nice. On cold mornings the heated seats are fantastic as is the heater. Now it’s warmer I like the way the aircon switches in and out as needed. What’s not to like!

Purchased my Dacia Stepway Extreme TCE 110 in December 2024 and up to yesterday morning had done 1660 miles. On the way to work yesterday the stop light went on and I telephoned AA breakdown assistance . It turned out to be leaking engine coolant. The “jubilee” clip had not been prised apart which apparently locks it.

The car is bouncy. The suspension needs tightening. You literally feel everything. Powers fine for the car, boot lid is flimsy and weak. Have to place items directly in the middle or buy a solid boot liner. Plastic interior is weak and damages easily. Also starts to melt/ go softer in higher temperatures.

I have just bought my Stepway to replace an 11-year-old Honda. The Stepway performs better, has a better entertainment screen, more sophisticated information than the Honda and costs much less. The Dacia Zen 7 year warranty is a big plus too.The only slight downside is that it is rather less practical.

I’m enjoying my car very much, there are only two things that annoy me a bit:

I find the safety belt cuts into my neck and I can’t adjust it,

I’m annoyed to be pulled back from my line of driving, there is very little leeway. I realise it can be switched off, but every time you start the engine?

Having bought a Dacia two months ago we have had to endure a noise from the engine compartment. We returned to our dealer and was told there is a fault on the gearbox we had to go on holiday with this fault still noisy, the vehicle is booked in to do something, hope all turns out well

The car is very comfortable and responsive and I like the extra luxury like heated seats. The lane correction system is too sensitive. It pulls the car around when I'm nowhere near the white lines. It can be quite alarming at times. This is the only reason that I haven't given it 5 stars.

I like the Tech and the bigger screen. It doesn't matter what you're doing, you can see everything clearly. What I loved about the original Stepway was that it was a couple of inches higher than a normal car, but the new Stepway is lower and harder for big guys like myself to get out of.

Delighted with my Stepway Extreme, drives really well, just the right amount of tech. No problems on the motorway, plenty of acceleration to manoeuvre.

Two minor things I'd add:

1) A coat hook on the rear grab handles

2) As an option a plastic guard for the metal lip on the boot edge

Good compact car, great features for such a great price. Really like the handling, it feels good on the road and is really comfortable. One aspect that really surprised me was the AirCon , switch the heating to low and you get a nice icy blast, great for the weather at the moment.
