All around it is clear the car is cheaply built.
Bodywork is not aligned properly. Had an issue with the first car do in the end my dealer ordered me a second which had the exact same issue.
Design issues are numourous but a few ones that really bug me include:
- Exposed painted body work in the boot. Prone to getting scratched. Easily rectified with an upholstery finish.
- Seat position. I'm 6ft2in and only just get the seat far enough back to allow a comfortable driving position. Even then I have to pump the seat down which then slides it back at an angle. However I then find the seat too low which 5-6 inches of room above my head and just about see enough over the wheel. Seat should slide back further so I don't need to adjust height. First car I have had that requires height if the to give more leg room. Weird seat mechanism.
- Safety settings make the car undriveable. I all ways turn the personalised safety settings on. Unfortunately you have to manually turn them on every trip. With safety settings on the car wants to force you into unsafe positions on the road. Lane assist for example doesn't take into account road conditions and you need some strength to keep the car in the right position. I'm athletic and it's takes a lot of effort. Annoying in car sounds from the safety settings are also very distracting.
- Windscreen wipers. The wipers are activated the wrong way round. I want one of wiping as a flick down. Otherwise it forces your hand into an unatural driving position. Again first car it's been this way round that I"very ever owned. Also screen wash refreezes in cold weather conditions and I find the reservoir in an odd place behind the engine. Usually near the front/ warmer part of the engine.
- Noisy wheel arches. Stones, etc. make a right racket when they get flung through the wheels. Looking at the wheel wells you can see there is not really much in the way of protective metal work. Just exposed body work. Again not an arrangement I've seen on cara before.
- This car has a 50 litre fuel tank yet I seem to go through a tank of fuel much faster than my old car which had a 40 litre tank. Certainly not as fuel efficient as my old car which had 11 years on this one. Certainly a step backwards when every other manufacturer is going the other way with fuel efficiency.
Those are the main points. Supposed to be cheaper to maintain vehicle. That remains to be seen. My insurance cost seems much higher than other vehicles contrary to what the I dustry says a out Dacia's.
Overall not worth the £15.5k I paid. Not even worth this if all the above issues were ironed out.

Very poorly finished vehicle. Feels cheap around the edges. After several months of use it's clear Dacia cut corners with build from misaligned panels to nosey wheel arches. Hard and high suspension makes for uncomfortable drive on British roads. Nearly breaks my back going over potholes.
Fuel economy not the greatest. Trim inside badly thought out. No in built sat nav despite the fancy touch screen. System does not support my iPod (bluetooth and usb). USB port high up in dash. Not in the normal place and only one of them. Oddly two 12v points which could have been USB and USB-C ports.
Default safety settings really distracting to the point of dangerous. Have to switch then off at the start of every journey. No option to be always off and the options to set the personal safety settings are tricky to use and I am tech savvy.
Handbrake already heavily stretched. Had a few wheel roles at a stop as not catching unless firmly applied. I'm strong so god knows how a weaker person would apply the handbrake firmly enough.
Gearbox not that smooth. Quite clunky. Sometimes tricky to feel 1st from 3rd (for example) so can be in wrong gear for pulling away.
I'm tallish 6"2 and can only just get enough leg room for driving. Driving position too low ironically. This is because to get the seat back enough you need to pump in down which also moves it a bit further back. Had no issues in my old Kia Rio. Had room to spare and a better driving height.
The painted trim in the boot gets scratched easily. Would be better with carpet trim on this. Will be having to buy a cover for this.
Car mat if drivers side already wearing badly. Only driven 2k in the car.
Wheel caps stick out from tyre rim so easily gets damaged as a result. Already damaged and not hit the curb once.
Screen wash tank cap in a bizarre place just under windscreen. Very awkward to fill. Screen wash also takes ages to defrost, over 20 minutes in most instances of driving in sub zero conditions. Tank clearly not as close to engine as other vehicles.
This is the mid range model and I'd expect all of the above to be rectified and the price greatly reduced whatever the model of Sandero. Way overpriced for low calibre of vehicle. My old Kia Rio performed better after 11 years than this does from new. Only replaced as that car needed more work done on the underside than it was worth.
Feels like Dacia Sanderos are 15-20 years behind the competition.
The only plus is the engine drives well but probably because it's new and has a turbo.

Been driving for over 50 years, and this is by far the worst car I've ever had. The so called safety features are so dangerous that I have a letter lodged with my solicitor in the event of my having an accident. Coupled with very vague steering, means I've had no enjoyment whatsoever driving the car. It's been in and out of the garage several times, and each time returned to me with the message that everything is fine. Eventually one of the technicians showed me how to switch off the safety features, but has to be done every time on start up. No service manual, badly fitting panels, absolutely minimum of paint, tech that doesn't work - the list is endless!
1 star was generous - really need negative stars. Do not buy!!

You don’t feel secure in the car when driving on a motorway ,
no grip and the car feels like it would tip over in strong winds ..
this is a concern especially when you’re at the correct speed limits,
and you feel very vulnerable in your own vehicle ..
The key card has a lot of issues,
not starting the car , even when put in the position near the seat area..
battery running out a few months into purchasing the car .
Just not a car I will be buying again once my agreement is finished ..
