• Dacia retains its title of ‘Best Value Brand’ at the Auto Trader New Car Awards 2023, previously winning the title in 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022
  • Sandero Stepway has been awarded ‘Best Value New Car’, with the robust crossover praised for its equipment and versatility
  • The awards are determined from the ‘real world’ feedback of 220,000 car owners

Dacia has defended its crown as the UK’s number one car manufacturer for value, winning ‘Best Value Brand’ at the Auto Trader New Car Awards for the fifth time and the ‘Best Value New Car’ category with the Dacia Sandero Stepway.

Famed for its ‘no-nonsense’ approach and the ‘good thinking’ that is a key theme of its cars, Dacia has previously won the hard-fought ‘Best Value Brand’ title at the Auto Trader New Car awards in 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022. It’s also no stranger to winning the ‘Best Value New Car’ category, with the iconic Dacia Duster scooping the award last year.

The Auto Trader New Car Awards are decided purely by the people that matter – car owners – and this year more than 220,000 of them completed an online survey to share exactly what they thought of their car.

In recognition of the brand’s unmatched value for money, Dacia owners not only highlighted the purchase cost of their cars but also the overall package. Sandero Stepway customers praised the robust crossover for its generous specification and all-round versatility.

Erin Baker, Auto Trader’s Editorial Director, said:

“No one comes close to knocking Dacia off its perch as far as satisfied owners are concerned. Dacia drivers felt overwhelmingly that their car was good value for the price they paid. ‘It’s a no brainer’, said one, while another commented ‘It’s all you need in a car. No hassle-factor buying it - the price is the price - end of story.’ So there you go! Well done, Dacia.”

In appreciating the success and exceptional value of the Sandero Stepway, Baker added:

“The Dacia Sandero Stepway is our favourite car on a budget, offering excellent value for money and generous levels of kit for the price. Owners commented: ‘It surprises me all the time how perfectly capable and decent it is’ and, our favourite quote: ‘It looks like an SUV and behaves like an SUV, but costs half of the price of a SUV.’ Nice one, Dacia.”

Luke Broad, Dacia Brand Director for the UK, commented:

"It’s fantastic to see Dacia once again emerge as a true consumer champion. Particularly pleasing is that it’s not just our competitive pricing that owners halo as great value, but also how it applies to their cars’ features and day-to-day capability. Dacia will always have affordability as its heart, but at the same time we continuously strive to use ‘good thinking’ to complement this with the equipment and durability that our customers need. In a time when value is more important than ever, winning the ‘Best Value Brand’ title for the fifth time is exceptionally rewarding! It’s great to see our approach is clearly hitting the spot!”
