• The Dacia Spring wins its first UK industry accolade, being named ‘Value Car of the Year’ at the News UK Motor Awards
  • Fully-electric Spring confirmed for launch in the UK in 2024, arriving as an all-new version boasting significant improvements in design and equipment

The Dacia Spring has officially been recognised as the electric car that offers a lot for very little, winning the ‘Value Car of the Year’ category at the News UK Motor Awards 2023.

Already Europe’s most affordable new electric car and credited with making electric mobility widely available, the Spring was singled out by News UK Motor judges ahead of its highly-anticipated UK launch in 2024. The winning feedback was provided by renowned motoring journalists from titles such as The Sun, The Times and The Sunday Times.

On the success of the Dacia Spring in this year’s UK Motor Awards, Will Dron driving.co.uk editor, said:

''With the high price of electric cars still one of the major reasons putting people off switching to electric cars, we need low cost models to enter the market. Of course, it is Dacia that is leading the way here, with the Spring being the most affordable electric vehicle in Europe. Yet British owners won't feel like they're missing out on features when it arrives over here next year. The Spring was the obvious choice for our judges in the Value Car of the Year category."

Luke Broad, Dacia Brand Director for the UK, commented:

“We are delighted to accept this award. As well as recognising how the Spring’s value has had a huge influence on democratising EV ownership throughout Europe, this award acknowledges how it is destined to mirror its success in the UK. In true Dacia style, the Spring will shake up the car market when it reaches these shores next year, continuing the brand’s evolution and now ensuring that a whole new audience of all-electric car buyers will benefit from Dacia’s unrivalled blend of robust quality and value.”

Following the incredible success of the Spring in other markets, Dacia confirmed that the game-changing all-electric city car will arrive in the UK in 2024 as an all-new version, boasting significant improvements in design and equipment.
