DATA PROCESSING FOR CONNECTED SERVICES AND ON-BOARD APPLICATIONS

Below, you will find details regarding the processing of your personal data for each connected service available in Dacia vehicles, whether standard or optional, which may vary based on your profile, vehicle model, version, and/or features.  Only connected services are described on this page. For other processing of your personal data, please refer to the Privacy Policy.

Emergency call

This service is a statutory service in Europe. In the event of an accident, the vehicle issues an emergency call automatically or at the touch of a button on the roof. Data from the car is automatically shared with the call center for faster intervention at the scene of the accident

 

Data processed:

  • Vehicle type
  • The vehicle identification number (VIN);
  • The TCU number;
  • Geolocation data: last three positions of the vehicle;
  • Technical data of the vehicle: type of vehicle, type of engine, type (automatic or manual) and time of the call made to enable the emergency services to make a diagnosis more quickly, direction of the vehicle.

Data retention: Data are kept for a maximum of 13 hours in the vehicle.  Data is kept for the time required to handle emergency situations. Data is completely deleted when this is no longer required for this purpose.

Remote control

My Car Finder

From My Dacia app, this service allows you to remotely pinpoint your vehicle’s last position, which will be displayed on the screen of your My Dacia app. 

 

Data processed:

  • Vehicle identification number (VIN),
  • Vehicle geolocation at the end of each journey,
  • Connection logs. 

 

Legal basis: art. 6(1) UK GDPR (data processing is necessary for the performance of the contract) 

 

Retention period:

  • Geolocation data is retained until a new vehicle position is recorded;
  • The link between the VIN (including the equipment level) and the My Dacia account is stored on our servers as long as the customer does not delete the vehicle from his/her account or the vehicle is not paired with another My Dacia account
  • Data related to the use of the service (logs concerning the use of the service: error/success code, etc.) are kept for 6 months on our servers ;
  • Vehicle usage data is stored on our servers for a period of 90 days. The data is purged as soon as no service requiring this data is activated on the vehicle.

Climate control

From My Dacia app, you can remotely activate or program the heating and/or air conditioning to precondition your vehicle. 

 

Data processed:

  • Vehicle identification number (VIN),
  • Vehicle equipment level (type of air conditioning, heated seat option, heated steering wheel option),
  • Hood opening status,
  • The temperature currently selected by the customer in the vehicle,
  • Preconditioning status (started, in progress, stopped), andGearshift status.

  • The link between the VIN (including the equipment level) and the My Dacia account is kept on our servers as long as the customer does not delete the vehicle from his/her account or the vehicle is not paired with another My Dacia account;

Charging spot position & availability

From My Dacia app, you can find charging point stations available on your route and thus remotely manage the planning of your journey, in particular by scheduling an optimal route, with the localisation of the charging spot stations.

 

Data processed:

  • Vehicle identification number (VIN),
  • GPS position at end of journey,
  • Vehicle range.

Retention period:

  • Geolocation data is kept until a new GPS position is recorded;
  • The link between the VIN (including the equipment level) and the My Dacia account is kept on our servers as long as the customer does not delete the vehicle from his/her account or the vehicle is not paired with another My Dacia account;
  • Vehicle usage data are stored on our servers for a period of 90 days. Data purged as soon as no service requiring this data is activated on the vehicle.

Start and resume car’s battery charge

From My Dacia app, you can remotely start, program or defer vehicle charging. 

 

Data processed:

  • vehicle identification number (VIN),
  • vehicle connection status and battery level,
  • complete charge management,
  • range and remainin charging time,
  • 7-day sliding charge planning calendar (days, start time and time).

Remote dashboard

Remote car dashboard

This service allows you to consult various information about your car from your smartphone via the My Dacia application: the total mileage, the location of the car, the range in kilometres or miles, the tyre pressure.

 

Data processed:

  • The identification number of the vehicle (VIN);
  • The total mileage of the vehicle;
  • Remaining range;

Charge status & scheduling

From My Dacia app, you can remotely consult various information related to the current state and charging history of the electric vehicle’s battery. 

 

Data processed:

  • Vehicle identification number (VIN),
  • Charging range,
  • Battery charge level,
  • Vehicle connection status,
  • Charging history (day and time of charge, duration, battery percentage at the start and at the end of charge, charged energy in kw/h).

Eco Score - MyDriving / Eco-driving

Dacia connected services

Eco Score / Eco-driving

The main objective is to provide a driving quality indicator (eco score) related to the vehicle's energy consumption. Other information such as the average consumption is also given to the customer for a more global understanding.

 

Data proccessed:

  • The score of the current trip is displayed live (the score disappears at the beginning of the next trip when the person starts the new trip).
  • In automatic mode, the last ten driving scores (eco scores) and the average fuel consumption of the last 10 trips are always recorded.
  • However, it is possible to keep a history of 3x10 scores according to 3 profiles (home-work trips, long trips, personal trips). This recording is done manually, accessible to all drivers.

  • The data from the previous trip remains valid and is displayed until the current trip is started:

            - before the ignition is switched on: the data is available

            - after the ignition is switched on: the data disappears.
