Safety is of the highest priority at Dacia.
We have identified a potential safety issue with the steering rack on 15 Dacia Spring manufactured among a batch of 886 right-hand-drive, Spring/Cars produced between 26 July – 17 August 2024, which could result in a loss of control of the vehicle.
We have opted to take a proactive approach to prevent a safety risk. Consequently, we are contacting the owners of 886 cars directly to inform them they must not be driven until remedial work has been completed by our technical experts.
Owners will be contacted immediately, using data obtained from the DVLA. Cars will be collected as soon as possible, and a courtesy car at no cost provided for the duration of the remedial work.
Owners with concerns can contact our dedicated helpline on 0800 028 3507, between Monday – Friday 8am – 6pm.
We apologise for the inconvenience this will cause you, and will ensure that your vehicle is returned as quickly as possible, once all necessary work has been completed.
We are contacting affected owners directly through post, using data obtained from the DVLA. Owners with concerns can contact our dedicated helpline on 0800 0283507. This number can also be used to book the remedial work.
From now.
Remedial work takes 4 hours to complete, but the process of booking and returning your car will also need to be factored into the timings.
15 right-hand-drive vehicles have been identified to contain defective steering racks, using parts produced during a one-hour production window.
These parts have been fitted among a batch of 886 right-hand-drive cars produced between 26 July – 27 August 2024.
In order to remove the affected parts as quickly and efficiently as possible from the roads, we have proactively opted to take a preventative approach to replace the steering racks of the entire batch.
We will endeavour to provide an electric courtesy car where possible.
Please state your requirements when you ring the helpline and we will endeavour to assist you as best we can.
A booking will be made the same day as owners contact the dedicated phone number. This will normally be within 3 hours of making a call depending on geographic location.
There is a risk of loss of control of steering if the part fails.
The vehicle will be fitted with a new steering rack. You should not notice any difference following the work.
The entire Renault Group Retailer Network are able to perform the checks and any remedial work.
Right-hand-drive Spring requires specific parts, not used on a left-hand-drive version.
