Understanding electric driving range
Driving range is an important consideration when choosing any vehicle. Understanding what affects range can help you plan journeys with confidence and get the most from your EV. If a car’s range doesn’t match a driver’s needs, it can lead to extra planning or more frequent stops on longer journeys.
At Dacia, our electric models are designed for everyday use, offering ranges suited to typical daily travel and simple, no‑nonsense equipment that makes managing your journeys easy.

what is driving range?
A car’s range is the distance it can travel on a single battery charge. As with any vehicle, it’s measured using standard test cycles such as WLTP.
the WLTP standard
WLTP range figures are calculated using a defined test procedure. This provides a consistent way to compare the efficiency of different vehicles under controlled conditions that are designed to be closer to everyday driving than previous test cycles.
what affects your range?
In the case of an electric vehicle, its range depends largely on the capacity (in kWh) of its battery, but also on factors ranging from the weight of the vehicle to the weather, the environment and the type of driving.
make the most of your electric range
Smooth, anticipatory driving promotes greater range. Conversely, hard acceleration, high speed and frequent braking increase energy consumption.
Choose urban roads, where regenerative braking helps manage the battery. Motorways, hilly or mountainous roads generally lead to higher energy consumption.
Find nearby public charging points quickly and easily using dedicated mobile apps. As of 1 January 2026, the UK has over 120,000 public charging connectors available nationwide.*
