Dacia is celebrating a double success at the 2021 Scottish Car of the Year Awards (SCOTY) with Sandero winning ‘Best Small Car’ and the rugged Sandero Stepway scooping the ‘Best Small SUV/ Crossover’ title.
The winners, decided by expert journalists who form the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers (ASMW), were praised for their high-quality interiors and excellent value for money. The accolades were awarded to Dacia during the SCOTY awards ceremony on 25th November.
On announcing the Sandero as ‘Best Small Car’ winner, Jack McKeown, ASMW President, said:
"The Sandero was a clear and worthy winner. Dacia has been a game-changing brand in terms of value since it burst onto the scene, but what our members were most impressed by with the second generation Sandero was the step up in quality. The Sandero competes with the best in its class when it comes to fit, finish and technology, while still coming in £1,000s cheaper than its rivals, which is what makes it our winner.”
The All-New Sandero has been the best-selling retail car in Europe for three years in a row. It offers new levels of interior quality with upgraded materials and redesigned seats, a contemporary and mature exterior design and the latest, most useful, in-car technology.
On the Sandero Stepway winning ‘Best Small SUV/Crossover,’ Jack McKeown added:
"All the superlatives that apply to the Sandero also relate to the Sandero Stepway. It drives very well, offers excellent value for money, and has a high-quality interior. The Stepway version adds the rugged styling and increased ride height that crossover buyers look for, making it a deserving winner of our Small SUV/Crossover of the Year title.”
The Sandero Stepway offers the same premium levels of quality as the Sandero hatchback, enhanced with more rugged styling and innovative features. For extra practicality, Sandero Stepway is fitted with modular roof bars that cleverly convert into a roof rack to carry loads of up to 80kg.
